Advocate ad·vo·cate \ ˈad-və-kət , -ˌkāt \: one who pleads the cause of another; one who defends or maintains a cause or proposal; one who supports or promotes the interests of a cause or group.
Who: We are looking for individuals who believe in the work of The White Rainbow Project, who are passionate about helping to further our cause, and who are willing to commit their time and talents to helping us achieve our goals.
What: The White Rainbow Project’s Advocate Program is an integral part of its US operations. The Advocate team is made up of passionate individuals from across the country dedicated to the mission of The White Rainbow Project. These individuals work as volunteer representatives of The White Rainbow Project in their states and communities spreading the message and purpose of The White Rainbow Project.
How: The White Rainbow Project’s Advocates are active volunteers, acting as representatives of WRP. Advocates commit to spending time volunteering for The White Rainbow Project in varying capacities throughout each year. Advocates have booths at local events, host fundraisers, speak at churches, bible studies, community meetings, gather supplies, and keep an active presence on social media (personal blog, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.) for The White Rainbow Project. They have monthly goals to attain, meetings to attend, and communication within the organization to maintain. Advocates who maintain active status within the program also have these opportunities:
Supplemental income on product sales
Invitation to attend the annual staff retreat
Opportunity to qualify for a service trip to India
Eligible to be considered for a staff position
We provide the tools:
Regional Advocates would receive templates, products, and tools to host at least 3 events a year from list below. Events can be as small or large as the Advocate feels is manageable
Spring- Chai Tea and Fashion Showcase with WRP products for sale
Summer- Annual International Widow’s Day on June 23rd - Walk for Widows
Fall-Bollywood Night Bazaar – Christmas gifts for a good cause
Party with a Purpose – Great for birthday celebrations
Wine and Paint night – Fun date night event
We will provide coaching, product, and media materials including:
Beautiful scarves, wraps, bags and jewelry made by widows
Outline Talk about widow stigma and work that WRP is doing in North and South India
Requirements: Must be 18 years or older and must live in an area where the Advocate need has not already been met.
