2024 Sari Challenge
Brilliance of Hope Gala
The Sari Challenge features local students from Palomar College who are competing to sew the best modern look made from one sari (5-7 yards of one fabric). This year the students are able to use this fabric plus any other fabric they choose to make their outfit. Another change this year is we will be having teams. The team consists of:
All designers will receive professional photos of their garment. The winner will get to produce their look for our white rainbow collection and have the women at our centers make their outfit where it can be sold the following year!

- model
- church or group that supports the team
- widow from Vrindavan- will make jewelry for the design
- at-risk widow from Chennai - will make an accessory for the design

"I recently relocated to Temecula valley to be close to my three granddaughters ranging from thirteen to twenty-three and my great grandson who is four years old. My heart was touched by the plight of India's precious widows. I'm blessed to honor them by taking part of the Brilliance of Hope Gala. Additionally, my picture includes my puppy. We are training together to work as a therapy team to provide comfort and stress relief to first responders or patients in hospitals or students in schools, etc." -Sandra

"I take heavy inspiration from old fantasy books and movies as well as more modern ones. I like to add a little bit of whimsical sharpness per se to the designs I make. The intent is to make a caplet/shawl design that compliments the elegance of the embroidery." -Christina
