But there is hope. God is transforming their lives.
Meet Basanthi. She’s the youngest widow in our program and lost her husband 5 years ago, leaving her with a terminally ill mother-in-law and 5 children. Despite the perils of being a widow, she labored in the fields during the harvest season and worked as a housekeeper in various homes. She raised funds to provide for a dowry so her daughters could be married and supported her two sons’ education.
Recently Basanthi lost her second daughter who suffered intense domestic violence. She now cares for her 5 grandchildren.
Her determination to stand up against tradition and taboo of widowhood is praiseworthy! When you meet Basanthi she always has a smile on her face. People say she is an epitome of grace and grit. Most importantly, she has a strong faith in Jesus!
For the past 10 years, YOU have helped change the lives of widows like Basanthi through the work of the White Rainbow Project. Now more than ever, we need your help to provide the care and counselling our widows so desperately need.
Won’t you Join us as we head into the next decade of service? Our goal of raising $10,000 before December 31st will allow us to meet the needs of the widows in our program. GIVE NOW Grateful for your support,
